Away Rotations, Interview Prep, and More | Weekly Newsletter

Hi Reader - I hope you're having a restful Sunday! This week, I’m reflecting on the first week of my away rotation, diving into my interview prep series, and continuing our USMLE Step prep series. Let's get into it!

What's New with You?

Whoops! I was trying to get my life together last Sunday, so let's catch up on the past two weeks.

I settled into my new city for the month while I am on my family medicine away rotation and headed to Kansas City for the AAFP FUTURE Conference. It was a BLAST! As a fourth-year medical student, the highlight of FUTURE was chatting with so many residency programs. I feel pretty good about the direction I want to go for residency applications, so I plan to finalize my program list by the end of the month. Check out the highlights - 1, 2, and 3.

Then, this past week, I dived into my away rotation. Honestly, I was SO nervous about making a good impression, but now that I am one week in, I am just immersing myself in the program and enjoying it. I am in the family medicine outpatient clinic for the first two weeks, then I will transition to the inpatient Family Medicine Teaching Service. I was able to see a bit of everything this week - from prenatal visits to chronic disease management!

I am so excited that my schedule afforded me the flexibility to do this away rotation, and that I get to do it in a city with so much support from friends and family!

- Morgan :)

  • Brainstorm Answers
  • Do a Mock Interview
  • Record Yourself
