End of an Era, Med School Interviews, and More | Weekly Newsletter

Hi Reader - I hope you're having a restful Sunday! This week, I’m reflecting on my summer, prepping to move, and sharing tips (as per usual). Let's get into it!

What's New with You?

Wow! I truly have no words for what the last two months have meant to me. This summer was not like anything I envisioned. I planned to do an away rotation in June, vacation at home in July, then return to New York next week.

But life had other plans - I ended up being able to spend June and July at home, and I am so thankful! This time next year, I will be a whole resident physician. I will have my first salaried job, hopefully my first solo apartment, and so many other firsts.

So this was truly my last summer of pure freedom, with minimal responsibilities, and I took advantage!!! From too many beach trips to count, to my family reunion, catching up with my besties, building a gym routine, spending more time creating content, and honestly just some lazy days on the couch hanging with my pup, I could not have envisioned a more perfect summer!

I rounded the end of summer out with my sister coming to visit (so of course we ate some amazing meals) and just hanging out (and hopping on some TikTok trends).

Tomorrow is packing day, Tuesday is moving day, Thursday is traveling to FUTURE, and then it's back to the grind.

Scroll to see some of my favorite photos of the summer!

- Morgan :)

Did you know there are multiple medical school interview types?

  • Traditional Interview
    • Open vs. Closed
    • One-on-One vs. Group vs. Panel
  • Multiple Mini Interviews (MMIs)
    • Scenario-Based vs. Acting Stations

If you want to feel confident walking into any interview type (and get exclusive access to mock interviews), check out A Step by Step Guide to Crushing Medical School Interviews!

USMLE Step Prep

We are continuing this series, sharing my favorite resources for Step 1 -

UWorld

If you're in medical school, I'm sure you know about UWorld. But I wanted to share some details on how I used UWorld. With a shortened dedicated period, I didn't even come close to finishing UWorld. But I maximized my learning by aiming to review the educational objective for every question, then doing a more in-depth review (looking at the graphics, charts, and other answer explanations) for the questions I missed!
