From Galentine’s to Match Mode 🀍 | Weekly Newsletter

Hi Reader, I hope you're having a restful weekend! Let's dive into this week's updates and tips.

What's New With You?

My social calendar was packed to the brim this week, which was unusual for me as an introvert who relies on my alone time to recharge.

Monday, we hosted a Galentine's Day celebration with a pasta bar, lots of sweet treats, and trinket decorating. It was so fun getting my girls together and catching up!

Tuesday, my friend hosted a Lunar New Year dinner. I learned how to make dumplings, but probably consumed much more than I made (we made 300 total!!!).

I also went shopping three separate times (including to the NYC Macy's that has ELEVEN floors). I grabbed this pair of American Eagle jeans because I tried on my sister's and immediately fell in love. I also fell in love with the cutest outfit for Match Day, but it is $320. It will not sit right with my soul to spend that much money, so let's pray it goes on sale!

Outside of that, I am entering the last week of my Culinary Medicine elective, so I am locked in this weekend and upcoming week working on all of my assignments and final project. One more week of this elective + two weeks of Transition to Residency stand between me and graduation!!!

Chat soon,

- Morgan :)

The medical school application cycle will be here before we know it! As we round out February, I am re-sharing the February To-Dos from The Applicant Calendar:

  • Brainstorm school list
  • Send initial letter of recommendation requests
  • Edit personal statement and send for content revisions
  • Brainstorm list for activities section
  • Apply for the AMCAS Fee Assistance Program

If you applied in the 2025-2026 cycle and have not received any interview invites or acceptances and want to prepare to reapply this year, just reply to this email, and I'll get you set up with my Reapplication Package.

For the next few weeks, I am focusing on preparing for The Match and my final requirements for medical school. The Med Student Corner will return in April. If you need anything in the meantime or have ideas for future series, just reply to this email or message me on Instagram!

Match Day Countdown

Count down to 2026-03-20T16:00:00.000Z

I feel like I've been living in this weird decision paralysis state where all of my brain energy is going to thinking about The Match.

BUT I certified my Rank Order List this week!

Honestly, it feels like a huge weight lifted off of my shoulders. I put a lot of thought and prayer into my final list, so I am committed to not changing/re-certifying it.

And I wish I could say that submitting it got rid of all of the worry, but it's still there. I don't know if it will dissipate on the Monday of Match Week, when I find out where I'm headed on Friday of Match Week, once I start residency, or ever. But I am happy to be one step closer!

Hi Reader, I hope you're having a restful weekend! Let's dive into this week's updates and tips. What's New With You? The past two weeks have been busy, and life is only getting busier! I started a Culinary Medicine elective at the beginning of February. It's an interdisciplinary course with medical students and registered dietitian students. Twice a week, we cook new, healthier, plant-based meals. I am such a picky eater and stray away from trying new things, so it has been a great way to...

Hi Reader, I hope you're having a restful weekend and staying warm! Let's dive into this week's updates and tips. First day out after the snow. First stop? Starbucks! What's New With You? This week was very much an inside week because we got so much snow last weekend. I kept looking out my window, and the idea of tackling all of that snow (without snow boots) did not sit well with my soul. I finally ventured outside on Tuesday, and have been doing some mini hot girl walks and trying new...

Hi Reader, I hope you're having a restful weekend and staying safe if you're in an area affected by the snow and ice storms. Let's dive into this week's updates and tips. What's New With You? To commemorate my last few months in the city, I made a NYC bucket list filled with some mundane activities and true "once-in-a-lifetime" experiences. This week, I checked TWO things off that list: 🎬 Attend a live show taping You can get free tickets for SO many NYC shows. I scored tickets to a live...
