What's New With You?

I know I've been a bit MIA the past few weeks. Honestly, I have just been soaking up this season of life. So much has happened, so let me catch you up!

The last week of February, I finished my Culinary Medicine elective. It was fun to learn more about "food as medicine," and I definitely plan to apply what I learned to my future patient encounters.

On March 1st, I celebrated turning 26 (and unfortunately falling off of my parents' health insurance)! I celebrated with some close friends at bottomless brunch then ended the day with homemade cooked cake and watching Scandal. I couldn't imagine a more perfect way to celebrate my day!

The past two weeks, I've been in our Transition to Residency course, which was my last requirement of medical school. It was essentially a lot of lectures and simulations reviewing high-yield topics to prepare us for residency. In the midst of this, we celebrated one of my best friend's birthdays (Pisces season!), and I've been doing alot of shopping for Match Day, graduation, and vacations.

Chat soon,

- Morgan :)

The 2027-2028 medical school application cycle will be here before you know it! If you're applying this cycle, make sure to check out the March To-Dos in The Applicant Calendar!

I'll be doing alot of travel post-Match, so if you're looking for an extra set of eyes on your application materials, make sure to purchase a review before this Tuesday. After that, I will reopen reviews during mid-April.

The Med Student Corner will return in May. If you need anything in the meantime or have ideas for future series, just reply to this email or message me on Instagram!

Match Day Countdown

Count down to 2026-03-20T16:00:00.000Z

I blinked, and it was the day before I find out if I matched or not!!!

Honestly, the past month has been so much better than anticipated, and it has really reaffirmed that the work I've done over the past few years to manage my anxiety has been working. Once I certified my rank list in mid-February, I did not touch it again.

I didn't want any last-minute doubts or emotions to cloud my judgment, so I stuck with what I had deeply thought about and prayed over.

Now, all there is to do is wait. I have alot of self-care jam-packed into this week, which I hope will keep me from counting down until Friday at 12PM.

No matter how the week goes, I am thankful for the journey, proud of myself, and confident that I did everything in my power.

NOW LET'S GO MATCH!!!

Hi Reader, I hope you're having a restful weekend! Let's dive into this week's updates and tips. What's New With You? My social calendar was packed to the brim this week, which was unusual for me as an introvert who relies on my alone time to recharge. Monday, we hosted a Galentine's Day celebration with a pasta bar, lots of sweet treats, and trinket decorating. It was so fun getting my girls together and catching up! Tuesday, my friend hosted a Lunar New Year dinner. I learned how to make...

Hi Reader, I hope you're having a restful weekend! Let's dive into this week's updates and tips. What's New With You? The past two weeks have been busy, and life is only getting busier! I started a Culinary Medicine elective at the beginning of February. It's an interdisciplinary course with medical students and registered dietitian students. Twice a week, we cook new, healthier, plant-based meals. I am such a picky eater and stray away from trying new things, so it has been a great way to...

Hi Reader, I hope you're having a restful weekend and staying warm! Let's dive into this week's updates and tips. First day out after the snow. First stop? Starbucks! What's New With You? This week was very much an inside week because we got so much snow last weekend. I kept looking out my window, and the idea of tackling all of that snow (without snow boots) did not sit well with my soul. I finally ventured outside on Tuesday, and have been doing some mini hot girl walks and trying new...
