Introducing The Match Corner | Weekly Newsletter

Hi Reader - I hope you're having a restful Sunday! This week, I’m reflecting on the second week of my away rotation, continuing my interview prep series, and introducing The Match Corner. Let's get into it!

What's New with You?

I am HALFWAY finished with my away rotation🎉

This past week was full of clinic visits, seeing a variety of patients. I received a scholarship to help cover the costs of this rotation. As a result of that, I was able to have lunch with program leadership + a faculty mentor. I spent those lunches this week picking their brains and learning more about the program. The medical school that the residency program is affiliated with also hosted their FMIG social to welcome the new med students, so I joined that as well.

The work-life balance has been life-ing, and this weekend I hit the road to ATL to visit my sister and celebrate her birthday. Happy Birthday to ALL the Leos :)

We had an AMAZING dinner at one of her favorite steakhouses, did some shopping, and finished our weekend out with Change Church!

Tomorrow, I dive into inpatient family medicine. My 5AM alarm is not going to be fun, but I am excited for a change of pace and to explore a different part of the program! Send me ALL the good vibes for the six-day work week ahead!!

- Morgan :)

Medical School Interview Series Pt. 2

The top THREE questions I recommend preparing to answer in traditional interviews -

  • Tell me about yourself
  • Why medicine?
  • What is your biggest strength? Your biggest weakness?

Let's brainstorm your responses to these questions and set you up for success this interview season! If you want all of the BTS advice that led me to receive 12 medical school acceptances with scholarships, including exclusive access to mock interviews, check out A Step by Step Guide to Crushing Medical School Interviews!

Congrats to all of the new MS1s - this is such an exciting time! In case you missed it, check out my MS1 Survival Guide series on Instagram.
